Do you have a nickname? Technically, my name “Channing” is one. My first name is actually Rebecca, but I’ve always gone by my middle name Channing (which people surprisingly mishear a lot). Whenever I order food or make a reservation, I always just give them the name “Rebecca” instead so that they don’t get confused and write down Shannon, Shanning, Channon, Chandler, or Jamie… Strangely, I get Jamie a lot!
What’s the first item on your bucket list? It’s a long list, but backpacking Patagonia and exploring New Zealand are at the top. The rest of it changes daily depending on what I see on Instagram or read about.
What’s the last item you crossed off your bucket list? Skydiving! Well, it was indoor skydiving, but that’s as close as I’ll get to the real thing…
What’s your favorite meal? I really love cheese. I think the perfect meal would be a great cheese plate followed by burrata, truffle risotto, trout almandine, and then pizza. Dessert would have to be something tart, like key lime pie, or salty and sweet, like dark chocolate ice cream in a pretzel cone.
What’s the one thing you’re looking forward to the most this summer? Seeing Phish in NYC for the Baker’s Dozen run. I love Phish. The last show of this run will actually mark my 55th Phish show!
Is there a celebrity you idolize? Growing up, I read Tiger Beat and BOP a lot and I just loved Jonathan Taylor Thomas (a.k.a. JTT) and Devon Sawa. I had both their posters, but I wasn’t allowed to hang them on my walls! Nowadays, I am a big Zac Efron fan — I even had a life-size cardboard cutout of Zac in college. I also adore Taylor Swift and her squad (they’re the coolest) and Trey Anastasio (from the band Phish). He is the dreamiest. All the feels for Trey!
What foods can you absolutely not stand? BANANAS, PICKLES, AND MUSTARD. They are all super gross and smell terrible, I can’t stand it when people eat pickles or bananas near me.
In a parallel universe, what would your career be? My dream job is Product Management. I honestly LOVE what I do. I also blog on the side part-time, so in another life I’d probably blog full-time and travel the world (you can check out Channing’s blog here www.bluemountainbelle.com). I also think it’d be awesome to be a fashion photographer, like Annie Leibovitz, or a concert photographer, like Dave Vann.
